Muscat: With the support and supervision of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology(MTCIT), Google is implementing a project to cover the roads of the Sultanate of Oman with the Virtual View feature in cooperation with the National Survey Authority and the Ministry of Defence from the beginning of February 2024 and will continue until 2025.
This experience features panoramic images of the main streets and cities in the Sultanate of Oman, allowing users to virtually walk through these streets and areas and explore them at a 360-degree angle.
The project will be implemented in two phases. The first phase will include the main cities in the Sultanate of Oman, namely Muscat, Sohar, and Salalah, and in the second phase, the rest of the states in the Sultanate will be covered.
There are many benefits to the project, the most important of which is facilitating planning trips and visits and exploring tourist attractions and important places for learning, entertainment and information without the need for actual travel.
It also facilitates, for example, taking a virtual tour of the roads surrounding the property in the process of searching for a suitable property, which saves time and effort.
